Hi Stefan,

are you really you? I bought from you HY-WDC6, do you remember?  Smile
Welcome to our forum!

We are using RS485 with MODBUS with interface developed by Werk_AG.
I still have everything on the table, the final installation will probably not be until September.
But the set works perfectly perfectly! (See http://wiki.weatherduino.com/supported_w...nstruments )

Most of the knowledge of Werk_AG, or the results of my tests, is still in the closed part of the developer and testers forum.
This is because I have not yet started the routine operation of a new transmitter, equipped with new sensors, among others
the mentioned Hongyuv HY-WDC2E ...

But I have to confirm that the experience of my tests has made me very excited. The device is very robust and works exactly
as it is written in the manual. I do not know why, but I did not even pay customs or VAT on import. Probably because one piece
of anemometer is considered by the Customs as a development sample. From this point of view, the resulting USD 295, including
transport, was very advantageous and acceptable.

For others, here are some basic parameters:

A more detailed description of this and other sensors and "compact" weather stations is available on the Hong Kong website

I would like to thank you, Stephan, for your patience, helpfulness and resilience in answering my repeated and frequent questions.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum.
As stated by Zdenek we are developing an interface which can be used with a great range of your devices using modbus RS485.
Personally I have some interest in your Doppler rain gauge, unfortunately I don't have one for testing. Maybe at some point I will have the money to buy one.

Hello,

HY-WDC2DVSE Ultrasonic Anemometer for Davis VP 2
Compatible With Davis Vantage Pro2 Equipment

HY-WDC2DVSE Ultrasonic Anemometer is completely powered by solar panel come with it. This model is customized to be completely compatible with Davis Vantage Pro2 series weather station, can be directly connected to Davis ISS via RJ11 port.
Thanks to ultrasonic technology, cost-effective HY-WDC2DVSE with significant advantages (Robust, No moving part & inertia) can obviously optimize performance of Davis’ weather station, make it sensible to 0.1m/s wind, free from maintenance(wind part).
The "Plug & Play" WDC2DVSE connects directly to a pulse or potentiometer input. Maintenance-free plug & play ultrasound WDC2DVSE wind sensor upgrade for Davis weather stations, replaces anenometer models: # 7911, #7913, #7914, #6410.

WeatherDuino is compatible with Davis anemometers, why special development? (If I understood your message Huh )

Hello Toby,

I think I can answer your question: The ultrasonic anemometer model we are talking here isn't the Davis Compatible model, instead its a model with a digital output (look the specs some posts above). Communication with the device is done using the MODBUS protocol through an RS485 line, thus the need of a specially developed hardware to work with RS485 MODBUS devices.

Hi,

I would just like to add that by mastering the processing of data received on the RS485 serial line with the MODBUS protocol
WeatherDuino meteorological station got high above the standard level of semi-professional stations and entered to the world
of professional equipment!

I will never stop admiring the ingenuity, endurance and diligence of Werk_AG!  Heart

Best Regards
