Yes, I also would be reluctant to "hack" a tiny and relatively expensive sensor like that. It seems unfortunate that Closed Cube chose to fit a "short circuit", instead of a "Weak Pullup" (or pull-down) resistor, or even the same resistor value as is used for the I2C pullups.
So to make the address change, it would be necessary to "flip off" the Zero Ohms SMD resistor (with a fine soldering iron). However, the "wiper" of the effective "selector switch" (which chooses between Vdd and Vss) appears to go directly to a "via" just above the pad. Maybe also a via to the right goes to the Vss pad, but would need to be tested? So it could be "moderately easy" to connect a (very) fine wire from that centre "via" to either the Vss or Vdd pin on the edge connector.
