So I think an lot of happened here within the last years. Also there are devices running 100 thousands of hours already. And since you light up the pixels the readability is also much better. Depending on the usage oled displays have some advantages.
I installed a brand new oled display today and will report in 40 days how things are going.

Amazing, I read on a website that they only last for 1000 hours but that was obviously very inaccurate!
