Several years ago I did some research with oled, made them by myself and I was happy when it worked several hours (if it worked).
So I think an lot of happened here within the last years. Also there are devices running 100 thousands of hours already. And since you light up the pixels the readability is also much better. Depending on the usage oled displays have some advantages.
I installed a brand new oled display today and will report in 40 days how things are going.
