Hi Guys, Pretty wet, but importantly, all ok. The WD station kept on ticking and the WebCam up on WU didn't do the terrible conditions justice. Recorded wind gusts up to 72kmh yesterday, and that was with the anemometer in its temp location and somewhat sheltered. Happy with the WD performance and all good. Others not so lucky and a huge cleanup now on both here in SE Queensland and down in New South Wales. I saw another weather station near buy report 160mm on Saturday. It certainly kept coming down, and for hours on end, thus the flooding.

We use these modules in the security industry, for alarm systems, cctv, access control, etc. They are available in various sizes. The one I used here is a 1.5Amp module by Enforcer, which is available in Australia from Altronics:

I was looking at doing something similar to what you have done. When I checked the specs for that supply/charger unit, it specifies a 16V AC supply to the supply/charger unit. Is this what you have used? I have 12V DC supplies for everything so far.

Hi Spuds, Yes, You need a higher volt PSU. I use a Bosch 17v AC PSU, from a security panel. You should be able to get hold of a security panel power supply at Altronics, as they sell the NESS branded panels.

Hi Guys,

To open with, I trust that everyone had a very Merry Xmas and wishing all a Happy New Years and all the best for 2017.

Its been about 6 months since my last post and thought that I would post an update. All is well, as have I been, though work was been pretty busy and occupying quite a bit of time, especially leading up to Xmas. I'm on hols now for a couple of weeks, and taking a well earned break on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia.

My weather station is running as strong as ever and extremely reliable. I have honestly not had to touch nor even reboot it since it went into operation. Both it and the CumulusMX on the PI just continue to run, and my WeatherUnderground station has receive a gold star as a result. The UPS system has done its job a few times, and I dont think I've had any downtime at all. I have also employed a little Dlink (domestic) CCTV security camera as a weather cam and this is uploading to WeatherUnderground every 5 mins. Happy to share more information if anyone would like.

Since my last post I've added a couple of new pieces of test gear to my home electronics workshop, in the form of a new Fluke 87 multimeter and a Tektronix Digital Storage Scope. A couple of nice pieces of gear, and so far working very well.

So I hope that everyone is well, and also having great experiences with WeatherDuino. It really is a sensation project and product, and just works. Its that simple.. Nice work Werk...

I am in Burpengary but have just ordered all the bits to make a Plus version but it will be used for up here at Booyal where I have a farm. I have a DYndns here for some remote radio equipment and a video camera it works a treat so will work well on Wunderground I hope as well. I like to keep tabs on the farm and the conditions while I am in the big smoke for work. What sensors are you using on your system and where did you get them from?
