Snow height measurement system
#11

These days we had interesting weather conditions concerning snow.
Beginning from winter weather with some snow showers up to freezing rain and heavy snow today.
The snow height sensor got everything.  Wink  In the graph below temperature, snow height and clicks of the (heated) rain gauge are shown.

Nice work!
Definitively the Snow Height sensor is a very useful add on to anyone who lives where there is snow.
I'm sure soon many people will start to use it.

Just updated to software version 4.2.

Changelog:

- Limited temperature to a range of -40.0 to 99.9 °C
- Limited snow height (humidity) to a range of -0.1 to 99.9
Values above or below will be clipped.
Since I'm emulating a HTU temperature sensor we have to stay in this range to prevent overflows in the TX and RX module.

Your assemblies always look very well.  You seem to have a natural ability for build things. Congratulations!

Hello together,
the end of this years winter season has come and I don't expect much more snow to come  Smile

In the graph below you can see this seasons snow height and the corresponding temperatures and counts of the heated fine offest tipping bucket.

As you can see the weather station engolling registered a maximum snow height of 35cm and there were about 60 days with snow.

So I'm curious what's coming next winter and maybe somebody else has a snow height sensor in use.  Smile
I also will work on some modification to switch the sensor only on when a measurement is done… all the necessary stuff for that is already on the latest PCB.

Best regards,
engolling

Uff...

Today, I have installed the sensor even though it is not yet connected. I had to completely change the mounting of the other sensors
and replace the booms on the mast. I am also waiting for the replacement of the main sensor SHT21 for SHT31. So the finals will be
when I find some free time again ...  Rolleyes
