With this list, let me guess...Wink you gonna build two RX units and one TX unit?
Maybe while you wait for the parts and boards, I can write a mini assembly manual.

That's right Werk, two RX units. One for Cumulmus and one for the office and I've also got one of each screen type to see which is better for my getting older eyes.

I'm pleased I got the right parts Smile Those pictures you posted helped big time, thanks for that.

It looks like I may have ordered the inferior versions of the pressure sensor as I got the older one.

I took the slower free shipping option so some of these things may take two or three weeks to arrive.

I'm looking forward to this project as my current weather station is driving me nuts.

So, you'll be pleased to know that the FTT display has two display modes. One with all the weather info in small letters, and other with only the inside and outside temp /hum, wind speed and direction in large letters. To comute between the two modes just briefly press the momentary switch (a long press on this switch will display remote system info: battery voltage and case temperature from TMP36). There are some nice small features to discover...

I do not think the old version is inferior. What I believe is that the new version is cheaper to produce. I use the BMP085 version on all my systems, and the tests I did with the new BMP180 gave me the same results.

Normally I also chose free shipping option. Shipping time is more or less the same as for Portugal, three to four weeks, sometimes only two.

In my country it's not differrent. It´s very difficult to beat China prices.

I'm quite proud of myself, I managed to get to get an LCD off an old swipe card terminal working on the nano Smile Most of my parts are here now, so I can start moving forward.

I see that I have to hurry in writing the assembly manual or it will eventually not be necessary for you... Wink

If you gonna start to assemble the TX board, just some hints:

- No need to install the resistors R5 and R6. They're there just in case, you want to connect a device to the I2C connector that does not have pullup resistors for SDA and SCL lines (normally the I2C devices have it's own pullup resistors on this lines).

- The RF range of the FS1000A module without a good antenna is only a few metters, but with a good antenna it can easily reach two hundred meters in open field. I sugest something like this (in the assembly manual will be a better photo).

I took a look around our local electronics store yesterday, but they only had CB radio and 2.4 and 5Ghz antennas. I may need to look around ebay. The receiver unit to be connected to Cumulus and a server is about 4 meters and though a window to the Transmitting unit. So maybe a couple of lengths of wire cut to the wave length would work. The one for inside will have to have an antenna though, as it has to go through multiple walls and about 10 meters.

I've been looking at breadboarding the RX unit while I wait for the PCB's to be manufactured and posted, but it looks like a job beyond my means. Looking to use the smarts of Eagle (Fritzing looks good but missing components) to do bread boarding or strip board is beyond my experience, so I'll just wait till the boards arrive and keep experimenting like this Smile.....

You're right. A 1/4 wave lenght, 0.5mm cooper wire will do a good whip antenna.
I did some testing with whip antennas and the results are even better than those obtained with these small helical antennas already manufactured.
The downside is just aesthetics. A SMA antenna looks better, when you want to put the electronics inside a box.

Initially I thought of making schemes with Fritzing but encountered the same problem. And design new components did not seem easy to me.

As my English writing is not the best, I was thinking that maybe I could send you a pre-release of the assembly manual for a review of the written or improve some aspects which you think convenient. What do you think?
Writing documentation is also not one of the things I enjoy more...Huh

I think I'll have the manual almost ready by the end of next week, or even before.

About the photo: Already playing with the DHT22 Smile
It's a nice sensor, and it supports wire lenghts to around 10 metters (manufacturer says 20), what makes it suitable for using as an outside Temp / Hum sensor. When installed inside a good Radiation Shield its accuracy is comparable to that of many mid-range Weather Stations.

For sure I can proof read and edit the manual but please don't don't rush the manual on my behalf.
I probably don't need an in-depth manual, more likely just some tips and explanation of the jumpers and options.

Even some stuff is becoming more obvious the further I look at it Smile
One thing I was curious about was that you didn't use the DHT22 in the TX unit as well, instead of the TMP36?
