Rain detector module for Arduino
#1

I was doing a little bit of looking around on the Internet and came across an Arduino Rain Detector Module which will detect whether there is any rain on the sensor.

It is a very simple bit of kit. Water is used to conduct across a positive and negative terminal of the sensor panel, acting as a switch.

It then provides an digital output of a one (1) or zero (0) depending on what condition has been made. There is also an option for an analogue output.

Has anyone had any experience with this module before? Even more interesting, has anyone attempted to get it to work in-conjunction with the WeatherDuino Pro2 system (if possible with maybe a few hardware modifications and coding)?

This could be a nice feature to know whether it is raining as often there is light drizzle, but not enough to be picked up by the rain gauge (an early warning to bring the washing in from outside before it gets heavy?). Even better if it could return a high or low result to the Cumulus software through the additional sensor input options.

More details can be found here about this board.
