Hi,
I was just wondering, if instead of using a usb cable for computer connection, can it be done via wifi ? I've been looking on ebay and have come across these items

1. mini usb to usb 2.0 adapter. item No 151192190452

2. wireless usb wifi network card lan adapter dongle. item No
221217691654

People's thought's and knowledge would be appreciated in this matter.

Hello,
that's not possible, at least with the items you referred.
That usb wifi dongle, it's just a regular wireless network card but with usb connection instead.
In deed exists some vendor's specific "kit" who includes an usb server and a specific software the allows to have something connected far away from the computer using the computer network (it's not only an adapter using twisted pairs cable, it's really through network).
Try to search for usb server but be careful, some of those only allows to connect a printer (printer server) and that's not what you want, be sure to buy a "generic" usb server that supports multi devices like usb to serial adapter.
Honestly, I think that won't be that easy ...
