Rainfall readings_Pro plus
#1

Werk,
I am getting random rainfall readings on my Rx recently when we have had no rain. This morning I see 2.6mm, and it has only started since the latest software updates (build 7 and 8)
Has anything changed in the Tx software recently as I have not updated it for about two months and am running v6_b00? (I am unsure of the build number)
Regards
Jim

Arduino IDE version?
Do you have any log when those values appear?

Arduino 1.8.5

I am unsure of how to get log details

I think that there is no reason to suspect of any problem with the rain routines, which haven't changed for years. I'm also not experimenting any problem with the rain readings on any of my receivers. However, and due to some recent questions, I suggest you to use Arduino IDE 1.8.4

There is available a new software release for the Pro2 PLUS (published today v7.0 b009) which was been tested with Arduino IDE 1.8.6 too.

Sometimes, very high winds may cause the rain bouquet to bounce, but not likely it bounced so many times to reach a value of 2.6mm.
Do you have any web address where I can watch the rain graphics?

Werk,
I have just updated my Rx with build .009 and Arduino 1.8.7, and will see if that fixes the rain issue.
I noticed the the latest WD pro 4 software is shown as “WD_4PESP8266_WD_v4.0_b005”
Should that be v4.1?

I haven't tested it with Arduino 1.8.7 (I'm downloading it now Smile ) only with 1.8.4 and 1.8.6. Hope it works too.

I still have the issue it shows 6.8 mm with no rain in the area. I only upload to Wunderground but have no web server. Should I reload with 1.8.4

Hi Barrow4491,

always take into account that is also could be a hardware problem. Once I was coding for hours to find out at the end, that my rain gauge had a problem.

Werk,
I have compiled with 1.8.4 and uploaded with no issues. I will have to wait until tomorrow at 9 am to clear the current reading and see what happens then

Werk,
I was up at about 0200 this morning and I noticed that the incorrect rain reading (6.6 mm) had gone, it had reset to 0.00. My meteorological day is set to 0900 not midnight ??
Because of the difficulty of taking my laptop up on the roof, the last time I updated the Tx software I programmed a spare nano and swapped them over. Could it be a problem that the Nano was not on the Tx board when it was programmed?
Regards
Jim
