Gravimetric rain bucket
#11

That's just awesome, Engolling. I love your set up. Are you planning to add anything else to your collection?

Short update: This weekend I wanted to get the latest data from my test setup before removing it again. Unfortunately I lost the SD with all the data on it on the lawn. And one hour of searching did not bring it back unfortunately…

Lessons learned:
-never use micro sd cards in nature  Rolleyes
-do not remove the sd from the slot to keep it somewhere "extra save"

So nevertheless I think all findings were made with the data I already had. So better has to be chosen for the next setup anyway.
Since there was pretty much dirt in the collecting container the approach professional rain sensors do would be very useful. The Idea is to have an 5l tank which is emptied by hand from time to time.

Regards, engolling

I still have my pyranometer setup, which seems to be working very well (more information will follow when there is more time).
In the next weeks I will concentrate to get my weatherduino finally set up outdoors until fall. All pre tests are made, housings are bought for the tx and rx housings are in planning.
But this goes OT and I will provide more information when things are getting done  Wink
