I have found that a 10K Ohm potentiometer is just right for what i want. I have removed the backlight jumper and soldered the potentiometer across the two pins with great results.

I just wanted to let you know that I received my new Wireless Display the other day and can confirm it is working well and I have just managed to do the OTA update. Everything is working well. Now just need to see if I can get a nice enclosure for it.

Regards
Chris

Hello everyone,

A few pictures to show you my WD board in its enclosure - I replaced the old WD. It actually fit much better as Werk made this new board as a backpack of the LCD screen.
I'll add a pot to reduce the luminosity as it's pretty bright to sleep with it on the bedside table :p

Regards,
Zitoune

Zitoune,
You have answered my concerns! I have my existing WD’s in the Adafruit enclosures and intended to try to fit the new one in the spare enclosure I have, and I see it fits beautifully!!
I am away overseas at the moment and expect my unit to be waiting for me when I return, and am looking forward to getting it going.

Hehe thank you everyone !

Sorry, somehow I could not get the last pictures posted vertically, don't know why it appears on the side in the forum.

Yes Jim, the Adafruit enclosure fit well. As you can see I did a few more holes to host the previous WD board and that are now useless. I had to enlarge the one for the antenna as previously i used a very long SMA connector. I also had to enlarge one of the side hole to pass through the USB port for the power supply.

At the end it almost holds steady but due to the antenna the gravity center tends to be at the back.

@Werk, on idea: could we add a feature to turn the screen off once tapping in an area of the screen, like top left? Thus no need of any pot and i could keep it in my bedroom Smile

Thanks
Zitoune
