method of recording temperatures

I read a couple of articles stating there is a "standard" for recording temperatures with electronic devices. That standard is one­-minute averaging of one­-second readings.

What method does the WeatherDuino use to report temperatures? Does it average temperatures across 1 minute or does it report the instantaneous highest one-second reading as the maximum temperature for the day?

I would bet that there isn't any weather station that does temperature readings at 1 second intervals and output the result as an 1 minute average.
External temperature is something which doesn't vary so quickly to require such procedure.

Anyway, answering to your question, the WeatherDuino take a read of the external temperature at each 17 seconds. That is what is sent to the receiver, also at each 17 seconds.

The standards I read about are from the WMO. I was just curious how the WeatherDuino calculated the temperature that it reports, not trying to criticize, just trying to understand how my weather station reports temperature compared to "official" WMO standards is all.

I found the document. It lists standards for automated electronic temperature measuring equipment and recommends averaging the temperature over a 1 minute average period. I noticed my SHT35 reacts fairly quickly to temperature changes and was just curious  if it was reacting "too fast" and recording a too high, or a too low, temperature.

From the reading I did the WMO adopted that "standard" for electronic temperature sensors because they supposedly react much quicker than the old glass MinMax mercury thermometers so the electronic temp sensor min-max temp records might not be directly comparable to old min-max temp records from mercury thermometers unless it is averaged over 1 to 10 minutes to mimic the behavior of the old thermometers.

I have no idea how the CumulusMX "logged" temperature is calculated either, I just know mine logs a temperature once per minute.
