I have crazy gust record problems with the davis and I have never been happy with the pot either in the windvane. I have replaced the pot already and it is expensive here. I found a guy in the USA who makes the electronics for the Inspeed gear and he sells either just the pcb or the whole thing. I have ordered a windspeed unit complete and also a windvane complete and also a spare pcb for each. Complete they are US$75 each so quite cheap enough and they do look good. I am sure I can make sure they are weatherproof although I think his latest CNC plastics versions are better. If push comes to shove I can make my own housings anyway as I have my own CNC machine.
