Can you help, I am interested in building the Weatherduino pro2. I am at present using the maplins N96GY system and I consider the weatherduinopro2 as an upgrade. I am intending to use some of the components from my present system, so which components would be best to use ?
I also want to obtain the circuit boards required for this project, so how do I go about this and how much do they cost.
Also I want to use a tft screen, so which is the biggest I can use and can you point in the right direction with regards to obtaining 1 from a ebay dealer.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated, so I will thankyou in advance.

martyn (tyntop).

I also have a Maplin, but mine is the N96FY, see the link in my sig. line below if you care to look at it's real-time graphs, I am in Moss Bank, St.Helens, Merseyside, England. My N96FY is a rebadged Fine Offset 1081 (silver / black console, beige instruments, no real time clock, but not a big deal). Your N96GY is the black one with the dark grey instruments, which is a rebadged Fine Offset 1080, yours has the real time clock, and you have to to offset the console's time on purpose by 1 hour behind GMT (BST in Summer) in order to compensate for the unit locking onto the German time signal instead of the British time signal from Cumbria! Since there is no UK specific model, only a Euro model and a USA model of the console. I know since my contact Jon H. in Kent has a 1080 (rebadged Watson). Or at least when we tried setting the Time Zone to 0 it was 1 hour fast when the clock synchronised since the clock was using German / Central European Time (CET), so I set it to Time Zone of -1 to compensate.

I am building a WDPro2 in order to rid myself of the occasional VERY high wind speed glitches that I am getting (about once every 2 weeks at present on average) when it is otherwise calm. Also I want to add UV and Solar readings to my Personal Weather Station (PWS) on Wunderground.com .

You can read about my exploits building it here ;- http://www.meteocercal.info/forum/Thread...-at-WDPro2

A link to uncle_bob's build is here ;- http://www.meteocercal.info/forum/Thread-I-m-under-way

Any help needed, just ask!

PS. Interesting about the bigger screen, I am also interested in that as well. I will look fowards to the release of that part of the project. I don't need more resolution, just a bigger display!

Cheers,

Alistair G.
