There is a reason to not do that, at least on the TX boards. The BME280 is not well suited to use as outside temperature / humidity sensor, its capacity to recover from large periods of high humidity levels are not so good as the Sensirion sensors.
I added support for it just on the Pro2 PLUS RX / Base Units, because it works very well at home, and saves us the use of a supplementary sensor for atmospheric pressure.
