CumulusMX - Automated Backups
#8

I have one 32Gb SSD disk (less than 20€) inside a USB2 case (5€), formatted in NTFS, and I'm running Cumulus MX from there. ...

Which SSD brand are you using? I've been playing with a Kingston SSD and an old OCZ SSD but have encountered problems with both. The Kingston has trouble auto-mounting on boot and a bit of research indicated that this is a standard problem with Kingston devices on RPi. I then tried the OCZ but it has intermittent problems. It is supplied from a powered hub so I don't think that power is the problem. I set up a touch cronjob to make sure that it didn't go to sleep but that didn't solve things either. I'm keen to perservere but knowing what brand you were running would be a useful first step (also anyone else that is successfully running with an SSD).

Thanks
