Hi Mark,
I have installed UVM30A sensors inside 50mm PVC tube. Tubecab (?) has 15x15mm hole and quartz class on top, see picture of one spare cab. I bought those quartz lenses from ebay (china) and they were about 5$ each. PVC tube is filled with small silica gel bags to keep it dry. I haven't seen any temperature problems so far, but that might be due to latitude (60N). Several years ago I had HobbyBoards UV sensors but they were totally crap. UV readings started to rise when temperature went below +15°C even in total darkness.

Here is the mast, red arrow is pointing UV sensors, first one is horizontal and behind it is the tilted one. Now it's clear that tilting does not help, it's giving way too high reading.
