SHT15 with 20 meters long cable
#1

A piece of info some may find useful.

I had success running a SHT15 temp/hum sensor using a 20 (twenty) meters long cable (4 x 0,22mm2).

Sensor used:
Digital Temperature & Humidity sensor SHT15 AVR ARM For - Arduino Compatible

Cable used (CNC4):

I am not saying this should be taken for granted under all circumstances. I am just saying it worked for me during the half an hour or so I had it running. Also, this cable is not insulated and is prone to degradation by exposure to sunlight.

Furthermore, the all point of a wireless system is skipping the need for extending long cables...

In practice I am not planning to use more than 2-3 meters. Still, the "5 meters maximum length" is perhaps on the conservative side. Which I reckon is always a good starting point.
