There is no significant differences / advantages between the v5.02 and v6.xx boards.

The v6.xx version was designed mostly to be supplied fully assembled. Everything that can be done with a v6.xx board can be done with a v5.0x too.

However, the Arduino Nano installed on RX v6.xx board have a slight modification, which under certain circumstances will improve system stability. This modification can be done also on all Arduino Nano used in the RX v5.02 boards, it consist in just removing the small diode in series with the USB power line. After this mod, the Arduino Nano only works when the board is powered by the external power supply.
This is why the Nano on the RX v6.xx boards, don't work when connected just by the USB cable.
