ATM is sent to the WD units once per minute, please wait some minutes and you should get it. The same for the clock info, you should wait 10 to 15 min for it to sync with the clock of your RX unit.

Until you have the sensors installed, keep them disabled on the software.

Werk,

I had it running for some hours yesterday but the ATM line on the WD remained a blank
I will try again today and start them in sequence in case that is the issue.

I thought that the absence of the sensors may be causing the random data display but wanted confirmation

Hi Jim,

Could you please tell me what ATM Display Unit have you set in RX_Config?
If you are using inHg temporarily change to mBar and check what happens.
There isn't any report of a bug with the ATM display on the WD units, but sometimes they appear.

Quote:#define ATM_Display_Unit 0 // 0 for mBar, 1 for inHg

Thanks

Werk,

I was using mBar but changed it to inHg and recompiled; it changed the Rx display as expected but still no data on the WD. I am at a loss!! The sensor is obviously working as the value is slowly dropping.

Another issue; when i looked at the WD config file i found that I had it set to use local TH sensor (1) and it is currently is not connected. Changed it to (0) and recompiled and loaded but no difference. this seems strange as the WD displays the Rx TH sensor values regardless of setting.

Thanks

Hi,

Please copy and paste here the content of your Config_WD.h
and tell me if you have any local TH sensor connected. In affirmative case, what type? DHT22 or HTU21D?

I have connected a DHT22 sensor to the WD and it is displaying local temp and Rh now

My only issue is no ATM data on the WD

Is the clock running in the RX unit?

Werk,
No it is not. I did not think anything of it as I am not connected to Cumulus yet and I believed that would correct the time and date so I ignored it .
I have had some issues with the RTC module, with the first (allegedly rechargeable Maxell ML 2032) swelling up so I read on the net to remove the charging diode to prevent this, which I did and replaced the battery with an identical spare I had.
Your query made me look at the unit again now and the second battery is swollen too; I now suspect the board may be faulty, even though the red power light on the RTC module is lit.
I am appreciative of your continuing advice as I believe the system is brilliant an seems to be ever evolving
Kind regards
Jim

Jim,

It's true that the clock will be set to the right time and data an soon as you connect the RX unit with Cumulus, but first you need to have a fully working TX unit, however as said by Uncle_Bob on post #5, you can "manually" set the clock, using an Arduino sketch included in the RTC library. Look at the examples folder, compile and upload the ds3231 sketch, it will set the clock, after that compile and upload again the WeatherDuino Pro2 RX software.

I understand the temptation to try a partially assembled system, but doing it can give you unpredictable results. Keep cool, at the end, everything will work as expected. You did a good progress so far, and I will try to help as much as I can.

As the ATM is sent to the WD units in the second zero of each minute, have the RTC running is crucial for it to happen.

Werk,
Thanks for the information re the RTC. I will swap it out when the replacement arrives; I remember reading somewhere in the forum to mount it horizontally with the battery upright?? Is this important as it is difficult t with the later version of the RX board
