I saw the settings in the TX firmware for the fan, but I'm currently just running the fan off the output of the 7809 regulator. Really the only times I'd need the fan not running is when the sun isn't shinning. Maybe there's an idea for the now unused solar sensor off the WS3081

I saw you were using a big fan, that's why I asked that question.
Although the MOSFET transistor used to switch the fan on or off, support high currents, the 7809 regulator is limited to 1A.
When a fan is connected to the system, a heatsink in the 7809 is required.

The system has been designed to use fans with consumption of around 200mA, if the current draw of your fan (at 9V) is less than 200mA, it is safe to control it with WeatherDuino, but put in use your unused solar sensor, it's also a creative job.

Anyway the "Stevenson Screen" seems to work fairly well as now my station appears to follow the other stations in my area quite well.

Not bad I think. And other data are also similar to those of nearby weather stations.
