Help on building a Pro2 system
#1
Hi,

I'm presently building a Pro2 unit, it's been sitting gathering dust for a long time.

Along the lines of this thread I have a further newbie question.

I don't have any experience with electrical/electronics at all.

Powering the TX 3.12 unit from a solar controller requires connecting the 12v/GND to the controller.

Does the orientation matter, i.e. 12v to the positive output, or 12v to the negative output?

Thanks.

Hi Nowra.

Yes it needs the polarity connected correctly.
Unless you want the magic smoke to escape.

I'm a bit concerned that you are asking this question as really this project probably shouldn't be undertaken by someone without even a basic electronics understanding.

If you have all the parts, you can sent them to me with return postage paid, then I can assemble it for you free or charge.

Hi Nowra

I share the concern expressed by uncle_bob, because to build this project, at least some basic electronics understanding is required.
If I'm not wrong you bought a fully assembled Pro2 receiver more than two years ago (October 2016). My best suggestion is for you to accept the generous offer from uncle_bob, and send him the boards, even so, I think you may need some assistance to install the system when assembled. Perhaps a nearby friend could be of great help.

Uncle Bob, Werk

Thanks for your kind offer and directions.

I'll get some assistance on the polarity.

I have assembled the TX and compiled the Nano successfully.

I have also assembled the WD board too.

Again, thanks for your time.

Sounds like you're off to a flying start then  Wink

If you get stuck, let me know, but start a new thread or send a PM (just to stop dragging this one off topic).
The internet is a great tool to learn electronics (or anything else really).

Cheers UB

I agree that new thread seems better, so all the relevant messages on this matter were copied to this new thread.
