Hello weather frogs,

today I would like to introduce you to my housing for the 4Pro receiver. It's a simple, no-frills case. A wall bracket is currently in the works.
Depending on the setup, I have provided 2 recesses for the power supply, one on the side and one below.
Since I don't have a dummy of the 4Pro this time and my China slide gauge doesn't have the accuracy, the right mounting holes for the circuit board are (still) a bit too far out. However, this is not a problem if the 4Pro has the 433Mhz module, because I designed the cover in such a way that it presses against the 433Mhz module and thus the circuit board is firmly seated.

You can find the case on my Thingiverse profile: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4945252

I don't know if this is know by y'all but I had problems with the OLED display that I used in my home baked Bathroom Fan Controller: it burned up/deteriorated.

The problem was that I didn't knew that OLED displays have a limited life span.
This will differ with the type and brand of-course. But the Chinese ones I had in my drawer DO have a life span of 1000 hours, that is only 41 days of 24/7 use!

I 'solved' the problem by temporarily adding a PIR sensor which turn on the display only when I'm around. But I plan to use a TFT display in a new version.

The 1.8" TFT display in my Gorgy Clock is still great after 8 years 24/7 use!
I never expected that! And I like to use color displays anyway so exit OLED

BTW: the Real time clock module in it (Chronodot v2 / DS3231) has proven as accurate as advertised: only 30 seconds a year deviation...

I don't know if y'all know of this amazing stuff... I used it almost 35 years now, and have it always in stock

It's a compound which will get very sticky when you knead it a bit and when applied it adheres very good on every clean material.
It will keep connections sealed/watertight for many(!) years!

The synthetic oil in the compound will keep it flexible and when removed and kneaded, it will perform it's protective function very well again.

I use is for protection of for example the antenna connections, keeping nuts and bolt from rusting, cover openings in cases etc etc
It is very easy to remove and use again...

it's called Duxseal
