IRLZ44N Mosfet Equivalents -
Wizza - 02-04-2016
Hi Guys, I'm having trouble sourcing the IRLZ44N Mosfet trany in Australia. This transistor seems to switch the 9v rail (via gnd) out to the fan..?? Is that its purpose..??
Have looked for a compatible Mosfet power transistor, and the IRF1405 seems to be a comparable N-channel Mosfet, with a slightly higher power rating..??
IRF1405 datasheet -

Has anyone looked at substituting the IRLZ44N and what did you find was compatible..??? Could anyone give me advise on the IRF1405 and would it be a suitable replacement..???
Many thanks...

Hi Mark
I had the same issue trying to find the MOSFET here in New Zealand. I have used the following for my project: ST16NE06, 60V 16A N-Ch in a TO-200 package. The Jaycar product number is ZT-2277.

Hope this helps

Mark
I'm just going through the process of purchasing all of the components and I grabbed these ones

They've turned up. Hopefully they do the job.
Cheers
Graeme

Yes, that's it.

It have a higher VGS(th) than IRLZ44N, but is possible that it will do the job.

Mine came from RS Components in Australia. It is easy to create a shopping account with them, or you may not even need to. Shipping is free even on small orders and delivered by courier where if you are not home the first time, you can authorize them to leave at the door. They are still in stock.
