soldering station - gtbwise - 11-10-2022

Hi all

my soldering station is  a Yihua 8786D - i believe it is rated at 50w

will that be suitable to use for my project ?

 Hi Geoff,

This power should be enough to easily heat small surfaces.
Soldering the SMA antenna-entree should still be possible using flux.

There are not really large surfaces to solder on the print.

reading manual it seems i can get the following from the iron
Work voltage 26V±10% 50Hz/60Hz
Temperature range 200 °C ~480 °C
Temperature stability ±2 °C (Static state)
Tip-to-ground impedance <2Ω
Tip-to-ground voltage <2mV

on inspection i found the ceramic heating core was broken on the iron, so i have ordered 2 new ones and a range of tips (10)

the unit also has the air gun which might come in handy

The power of your soldering iron is good for the job, the most important is using a thin tip.
