In the compact receiver promo there is an item on the menu screen,”factory reset”, what does this actually do?
Regards

Hi Jim,
It cleans some values stored in EEPROM, and forces the system to perform a full initialization sequence. It should only be used in very special cases, mostly when people are still testing their installation.
For those who are used to the Pro2 PLUS system, it does exactly the same thing than pressing the push button for 5 seconds on a Pro2 PLUS receiver.
Regards

Thanks Werk,
If it is critical that it only be done in special circumstances, does it have password protection or “are you sure” style of confirmation as the responses to the touch screen seem to be very fast.

The data deleted by the "factory reset" isn't critical, mostly is related to some accumulated rain values, however its a function not intended to be used often.
Currently, when a new software upgrade needs to perform a "factory reset" it will do it on first run without any user intervention.
