v013 new features hardware mods for RX boards prior v4.xx - werk_ag - 17-11-2014

Data relay feature

All previously released RX boards already have on the underside of the board, connector pins for an additional TX module. This module can be one exactly equal to the one used on the TX boards (see TX v2.50 parts list), or a STX822 like this (very powerfull at only 5V):



Bellow is an ilustration on how to connect a 433Mhz TX module to the existing pins.


And it's done!


TFT backlight control

The already existent press button, is now also used to switch the TFT backlight on or off. A user defined timeout for auto off has also added in v013 software (see user config options in RX software).

This new feature requires some extra hardware, but only a 2N7000 transistor and a 10K resistor. Less than 1€

This mod can be applied to all RX units already built.


Image bellow shows only connections for the backlight control. All other connections should be made as illustrated in this topic

The bicolor Led is no longer used, if installed remove it, and use normal Led. Connect it between LD1 and the center pin.

Note: The backlight control line (D3) can be welded on either side of the R3 resistor. It works anyway.
