Hello

Here comparative interesting on the shelter for temperature measurement.

LSOC: They is largest of Stevenson
SCAE: The Italian shelter
SDAV: It is Davis 7714
SSOC: Socrima with cups of MF
VDAV: Davis ventilated méca 24:00/24h (solar)
VEIG: They are the other specimens of the German shelter ventilated méca.
VTHY: It is Thygan ventilated méca very good in Switzerland on snow and the ice, but with the street in the desert!
VYOU: it is ventilated the méca model

My lack of control of English do not allow me to develop the comments.
The 7714 is a very good compromise.
For the areas “cold” Thygan is excellent.

Good evening

From my research I decided on the Davis 7714. It is what I am using for my temp/humidity sensor.

Hi tobyportugal,

This is a very interesting set of data. Do you have the source by chance?

I think most of the users here are using the Davis 7714 or something similar; that's widely available and relatively small to install.
Its standard deviation is relatively small on this graph with a slight negative offset, which means it's slightly (0.1/0.2 deg C) underestimate the "real" temperature - do you know what is the reference in this comparison?

Thanks
Zitoune

Hello,

With the price on your premise (the USA), there is no hesitation.

Unfortunately in Europe, it is much more expensive (except if one makes a purchase with several people in the USA)

Hello,

The source is an intervention (rather old) on InfoClimat.
http://forums.infoclimat.fr/f/topic/13416-surchauffe-davis-vantage-pro-2/?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1
See the answers of Christian P, I asked for the links of the full reports. If I receive the links, I will post them here.
Infoclimat is generally a good information source, one can simply be disappointed exclusiveness brought to the VP2.

The goal of my future WeatherDuino is to assemble comparison tests. (Je ne suis pas sorti de l'auberge Smile )

Hello,

I know, but to be interesting 5 parts are needed.

1 part: 110$ = 93€ + 23% VAT PORTUGAL = 114€ (less expensive in France, Germany, Holland!)

5 parts: 375$ = 318€ +23% VAT PORTUGAL = 391€ - > 78.20€/pc

Idea  So of Portuguese are interested for a purchase in group…

Hello,

My Italian friends are crazier than me.... Music
This online comparison is an excellent database with expensive and low cost instruments.
