What modifications to Arduino nano? - clubjoker - 17-03-2017

Hi all

The thread for RX PCBs mentions fully-assembled boards with "modified Arduino Nano". What modifications are these?

I see elsewhere on these forums mention of disconnecting the power LED on the nano to save ~3mA of power consumption. Reading elsewhere on the web, I see removing the on board 5V regulator gives minimal benefit in power consumption.

What mods are useful when using the nano for a Weatherduino?

The modification on the Arduino Nano used on the RX v6.xx board consists only in the removal of a small diode. This mod makes that the Arduino only gets power when the board is powered by the external 9V power supply. No power is drained from the PC USB port.

Thank you.

I've found this page which describes the 340G Nano PCB layout. I'll compare vs my nanos. I'm assuming the component marked "USB diode" is the one to remove.

That's right!
