Screen saver issue - Barrow4491 - 08-02-2017

Werk,
I have just upgraded the Rx software on my new Pro2 Plus system and all was OK until the screen saver activates, and then the date and time displayed changes to Sunday 02-01-2067 and the time changes to 3 hours earlier.
Touch the screen saver and the date on the information display has changed too.
Regards
Jim

RE: Screen saver issue - Wizza - 08-02-2017

Interesting... I just loaded the latest version release RX code onto one of my Pro2+ RX boards this afternoon, and its back at the office. So I'll let you know in the morning if I'm seeing the same behavior... Cheers Jim...

Thanks Mark,
I didn't notice it in the earlier version

PS the clock does not run either and It is not connected to CumulusMX, just Wunderground

RE: Screen saver issue - Wizza - 08-02-2017

Hhmm.. I thought I saw my clock running. You mention that your clock isn't running..? Is the RTC module in a socket..? Does it look seated right..? Is it in the right way...??? Also, next to the clock, do you see the little green dot, indicating that NTP has connected ok..? Also, is your wifi network online and running ok..? And your in range of wifi signal..? Something certainly not sounding right Jim.... I'll check mine in the morning...

Hi Jim

The described issue is not related with the screen saver, but with the WU upload.
We are aware of this situation since 1/2/2017, and it seems to no affect all systems but just systems in some country's. It's possible that WU have changed something on his servers, because the WU upload function worked for months and stopped working on several systems exactly on the same day at the same hour.
We are working on it. As a temporary fix, for the time and date change to 2067, just disable the WU upload function.

Here, in Portugal, WU upload have stopped to work on 1/2/2017, and yesterday it started to work again.

Anyway, we already have done some changes on the code to prevent that the problems with the WU upload will affect the time and date functions.

Thanks for that. Is the colon on the clock on the Rx supposed to flash as it does on the WD units?

Werk,
I have just uploaded the latest  Pro2 Plus software (V2_b019) and I cannot get the NTP light to go green as it has been before but the time appears to be correct. Is the colon supposed to flash  on the clock and screen saver (mine doesn't)
According to my router the wi fi is ok.
I have not not enabled the wunderground upload as yet, due to the issues you mentioned.

I have been running my 5.1 Rx connected to Cumulus MX and WU but this seems to have stopped uploading as my weather station is "not reporting". It has been working fine for a long time until now.
Do you know of any issues?
Regards
Jim

Quote:I have just uploaded the latest  Pro2 Plus software (V2_b019) and I cannot get the NTP light to go green as it has been before but the time appears to be correct.

Disconnect the power, wait a minute or so, and connect it again...
Also check the NTP server in your configurable settings.

No, the colon is not supposed to flash.

If even from Cumulus your WU weather station is "not reporting" maybe there are a problem with the WU servers.

An important advice: If you are upload to just one WU weather station, never keep the WU upload function active on Cumulus and on the Pro2 PLUS2 at the same. You risk to be blocked.

Quote:I have not not enabled the wunderground upload as yet, due to the issues you mentioned.

The issue with the date and time that happened when for some reason the WU upload failed, was solved in the latest release.

RE: Screen saver issue - qldbureau - 10-02-2017

May or may not have been an issue from Australia, but I can confirm WU activated on Pro 2 Plus here with no issues. I have only tried on version 1.0 b018.

Werk,
I have tried and checked all things mentioned by yourself to no avail so I have attached my config file in case I am missing something.
My WU is working again via Cumulus MX on my old receiver. (I note your advice re sending from two RX units simultaneously.)
My choice is to use the Pro Plus if  I can get it to work

Jim
