Werk,
We had some rain today, the first in many months, but my receiver did not indicate it. I am wondering if the fact that my Tx is running software v6 b004 and my Rx is running v6 b014 has anything to do with it?
Regards
Jim
Hi Jim,
I'll give you my thoughts until Werk can possibly answer.
While I don't know if the packet stream has changed in-between those versions it's quite possible.
Usually Werk notes what works with what in the release note.
Anyway, it's a good idea to keep both ends up to date or at least at the same firmware version.
Cheers UB

Thanks for your reply.
I am unable to access my roof where my rain gauge and Tx housing is located because I have recently had hip surgery and for that reason I did not update the Tx software at the same time as the Rx.
Strangely this morning I see .2mm rain on my Rx but we had nothing overnight. Hopefully I will be able to access the Tx board shortly and I intend to run a USB cable to a more accessible position for future updates.

Jim

Hi Jim,
When you say "We had some rain today" could it be that the total amount was less than 0.2mm?
If so, it's normal that you haven't got any reading, however, some water have stayed accumulated in the rain gauge tip bucket, so a very little amount of water like night dew can produce a tip.

We actually had in excess of 12mm according to my old style gauge mounted in my courtyard but I have been unable to access the roof to see if there is a mechanical blockage in the Davis gauge which prevented the gauge recording it.I had an issue before where the birds were sitting on the wind vane arm and their droppings were going into the rain gauge and blocked the strainer and prevented it from reading (since fixed). Thinking about the minor reading it is only one “tip” and it could have been caused by mast vibration
It will have to wait until I am able to climb the access ladder and update the software and look it over.

Jim
