Hi,

I have started collecting of parts for my build and I would like to ask several questions. As I do not have almost any electrical engineering backround (I am mechnanical engineer with focus on power and nuclear engineerig so I had just same basic electric course focused on little bit higher voltages) thay may be quite silly and there probabbly will not be my last so sorry in advance Smile

TX Unit:
- On some pictures of TX builds here on forum there are coolers placed on Mosfets. Are they necessary?
- There is a component called "Fine Offset wind vane enabler". Is this something required just for the specific Fine Offset equipment? If not what sort of component is it?

WD Unit:
- Arduino Nano 368 - Isn't the number a typo from 328?

Thank you

Best Regards

Premek

Yes

That is a variable resistor or potentiometer

Yes, should read 328

I think he's asking about the little shorting jumper to short the 2 pins if one is using FO wind gauges?
Could be, not sure Smile
Thank you for asnwers. As for the wind - I am asking about JP2 position. So this should be connected through for FO only?

Hi PremekK,

Quote from another thread (author Werk_AG):
An important info that may be missing: For Fine Offset wind vanes, JP2 jumper should be closed. Keep JP2 open for all wind vanes based on a variable resistor.

So - the answer is YES.  Smile
Hi PremekK ,

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, the JP2 should only be placed when using the FO wind vane

That's right, should be 328. I will correct it as soon as possible.

There is no need to use any cooler on the Mosfet. The current throught it its only 100 to 120mA (depending on the fan used for the RS shield).
